Born and raised in the Bronx, NY, Leo Astacio is a seasoned baseball veteran. Over the course of his 20+ years in professional baseball, he has developed a wide array of experience spanning across Major League Baseball, international baseball, and player representation. A member of the New York Yankees operations and front office team from 1998-2004, Leo was part of four World Series teams, including two championship runs. He worked closely with superstars such as Orlando Hernandez, Alfonso Soriano, and Jose Contreras, among others, contributing to their professional acclimation. His involvement with international players lead to a position with the MLB where he worked with Team Panama during the inaugural World Baseball Classic as Director of Travel.
In 2007, Leo began working as the business manager for Alfonso Soriano. His maintained responsibility and management for all of Alfonso’s off-field endeavors before co-founding SCF Sports Group. Leo played a critical role in the growth of SCF and the success of its numerous MLB clients.
Since 2015 Leo has been a part of the team at Magnus Sports, a boutique representation agency founded by Marc Anthony. At Magnus, Leo has been an integral part of the growth and development of one of the most prestigious agency’s in sports.
Leo graduated from LaRoche College in Pittsburgh, PA with a degree in Communications and was a four year letter winner in baseball. Leo and his wife Lori have three children and reside in Tampa, Florida.
